If you think your handwriting might not be legible for her you can type and print your introductory letter. If you write to several ladies you may type the text of your first letter on computer, but don't forget to change the ladies name on your letter. If you print the first letter without the lady's name after the word "Hello..."and then make many copies of putting in each lady's name by pen, this letter will not look personal and reduce your chance of receiving a response.

Put the date on the top of your letter. It will help a lady to know how long it took to reach her. Sometimes it is difficult to read post marks. Put your mail and email address on the top of your letter. (Some ladies might have access to an Internet Cafe)

Tell her about yourself. Write your first name and surname, your age, height, weight, education, job, marital status, children if you have any, hobbies/interests, life projects and anything else that is important to you. Tell her a little about the town and area where you live, about your family, pets (if you have any). Tell her that you are serious about finding a special lady to spend the rest of your life with, that you are marriage-minded person and aren't just looking for a open ended long distance correspondence.

Don't tell her about the failure of your previous marriage (if any) and ruined relationships with local women. Avoid intimate themes.

Ask her as many questions as you like. It will help you to get to know her better. Invite her to ask you any questions too. It will show her your open personality. If she has a phone# ask her permission to call her and the best time to do it. Write your phone# clearly and invite her to call you collect, it will show your interest toward her even this service is not available in her area.

Don't forget to sign your letter after "Sincerely yours,..." and maybe add some warm words in your hand writing like "I am looking forward to hearing from you very soon"

Send your best and most recent photograph(s) or you can make high quality color copies of your pictures for the first letters. Enclose your printed address labels. To increase your chances of receiving an answer you can enclose an International Reply Coupon.(Check with your Post Office)

Don't send small pictures(which you can't be seen properly) or pictures with sunglasses on. Don't enclose money or something valuable. The lady may never receive this letter. Some Countries' Postal Offices scan letters and parcels for valuables and steal them. After you get to know your special lady you can try sending small gifts by Registered Mail.

  • Be HONEST. You will get caught eventually and could ruin a potential relationship.

  • Be INTERESTED in her. Sure, tell her about yourself, but ask her what she is interested in and ask about her.

  • Do COMMENT on what she has told you.

  • Do REPLY QUICKLY. "I was so busy at work." What a rubbish excuse. If you care you will forgo TV, the pub, the boys, and write to her.

  • Don't BRAG about your achievements, possessions or income. Only tell her if you have a house or apartment and a steady income. She will find out later how wonderful you really are!
